Holiday kits always get me. They win me over with their “look at this great value” and their gorgeous packaging. (I am a SUCKER for some great packaging). But… how practical are they? Truth is, sometimes with these limited edition holiday palettes or sample kits, the quality can be a little hit or miss, or the sizes can be super tiny. I have a Tarte Amazonian clay blush palette from a few years back that I still reach for quite a bit but the rest of them fade into the background of my collection.
However, I wanted to share with you two Sephora Favorites bags that I picked up last week that I definitely think are worth the money. Now, I don’t have full reviews on the products because some of them are brand new to me, but I wanted to give you a heads up in case you wanted to grab yours before they sell out! Both are exclusive to Sephora inside JC Penney, but they have very similar ones available at stand alone Sephoras (for a slightly higher price point and some additional products).
The first one I picked up (and the reason for the trip) is the Sephora Favorites Skin Wonderland. It costs $39 but is a $167 dollar value. That alone was enough to grab my attention. Most of these samples are from brands I’ve heard great things about but haven’t tried just yet. Glamglow, First Aid Beauty, Kate Somerville, and Josie Maran are just a few of the awesome products included. All of these samples are great sizes- enough for you to try out to see if it’s worth the investment but you don’t have to commit to a full size incase you’re not in love. Another great thing is that some of these products usually don’t require full sizes- aka the eye cream in the bag will probably last you quite some time. I’m super excited to try these and I’m sure you’ll end up seeing some in my favorites!
Of course I can never leave Sephora with just one thing…. #notsorry. A second bag caught my eye, Sephora Favorites Perfect Ten. This one was a little more expensive for $49, but I can tell you it definitely is worth the price tag! I knew right off the bat it was coming home with me, it’s got a full size beauty blender and a rollerball of my favorite perfume SOLD. There’s also some Kat Von D, Formula X, Benefit and NARS. Hello, have I sold you yet, too? Seriously though it’s pretty much like you’re buying two things and getting a couple extra for free!
I know I haven’t tried most of the products in the bag but I already know I’m going to love them! There’s some new brands in here for me to try out and some products that have already won me over. I really think it’s a win-win for everyone. Plus, with the holidays coming up… keep this in mind for any makeup lovers in your life!
Have you tried any of the Sephora Favorites sets?
Any other ones I should check out… not that I need anymore but you’re not judging right?!
