Well happy Monday everyone! Hope you all have done your Thanksgiving shopping and are getting prepped for the big feast this week! Personally I am SO excited and will definitely have a "no ra-grets" mindset for the holiday.
And during all this holiday hustle and bustle I am currently in the process of moving. Woohoo! I'm so excited to decorate, have my own space and a super cool roommate, buuuuut not so excited about the big purchases like new furniture.
I've been blessed with some quality hand-me-downs in life so far, but there comes a time when you just really want to create a space for yourself from scratch. That's where I'm at now. However, did you know that furniture (all furniture) is HELLA expensive??? Dear Lord, shopping got overwhelming real quick. But no matter...I've been "ballin' on a budget" for quite some time so I'm pretty good at finding a good deal. And with Black Friday right around the corner the online deals have already started, hallelujah!
So what I have for you today is a little bargain shopper post for those of you trying to find quality furniture but who still want to afford food and gas. It's all about the research people. What works best for me is to window shop at high-end stores to get inspiration then go online at discount places and find a good copy-cat piece! You get the look you want for the price you can afford.
My first task: finding a dresser.
These beauts are from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. Their pieces are so beautiful but unfortunately way out of my budget.
Now these two are from Overstock.com (a recent obsession of mine) and they are equally are gorgeous in my opinion! And like a quarter of the price! #addtocart
And you know you can always rely on Ikea for a solid, minimal dresser. This one was a definite contender.
Next up: a cute little nightstand.
Again Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware are so on point with their style. Love love love. But sadly, ya girl cannot spring for a nightstand in the $400-$900 range.
Overstock ya done it again. I had so much trouble deciding which of these three I liked best. Did I want the classic white or add a little interest and texture with the wood finish? And you guessed in these three are all from $100-$200.
And this one from Ikea is only $100 too!
Finally...a desk. This one was possibly the toughest. I wanted something minimal but super functional.
I actually found two from Pottery Barn that I thought were great inspiration!
And these three from Overstock.com are absolutely amazing! I mean come on, you can't tell me that this middle one isn't the twin to my second Pottery Barn pick.
And if you're going minimal, Ikea is your place!
I feel so relieved that I have so many options with the look I want without breaking the bank. I'll have to let you all see the final product when my room is finally finished! Ahhh! I can't wait!!!
