Pumpkin Spice Buddies

Pumpkin Spice Muddie Buddies in a cute starbucks cup! Easy recipe! Must Try!

First of all if you ever saw one of these recipes on Pinterest and it said "quick and easy" you've been lied to. I thought experimenting with this recipe was going to be a breeze (obviously it was not because this post is coming to you a day late).

This started out as me finding a base recipe for delicious Muddy Buddy's and creating my own to share with you. It turned into me struggling through and telling you all the truth about these damn things.

I found a wonderful recipe on Pinterest (...duh) and allotted myself one night after work to whip this recipe out. My first mistake: checking the ingredients. On my drive home I checked the recipe and turns out I actually didn't have half the ingredients. And I'm sorry but it's October, WHY was it so difficult for me to find pumpkin seeds.

So on paper this recipe looks super easy. Put ingredients in a bowl, melt the chocolate, mix in powdered sugar. Cool right I can do that. WRONG! Putting the dry ingredients in a bowl lures you into a false sense of confidence before you have to melt chocolate. By the way, melting chocolate has now broken the top 5 on my list of "literally the worst things in the entire world". Hmm...maybe I'll share that list with you one day....but I digress.

Maybe I'm just an idiot but microwave doesn't work or the double-boiler WTF whatever thing sucks too for melting chocolate. Then once I called my mom to help me, we had to add pumpkin pie spice to the melted chocolate which made it immediately become solid again. Thank God for my mother who worked some sort of voodoo on it to make the chocolate actually melt again.

So you deal with that, then struggle to mix the "melted" chocolate and Chex cereal. Half of mine ended up on the floor. And after that's mixed you very carefully (probably spilling 90% of what you have left) into a bag with powdered sugar to shake and mix.

Now, I almost texted Clancy and was like "Yeah this post is not happening." However...after fighting through the process of making these dumb things, it turns out...THEY ARE FREAKING DELICIOUS! I was actually hoping they would be terrible so I would be justified in hating them BUT THEY ARE SO GOOOOOOOOD! Whhhhhhhhyyyy?????

So I'll add the recipe for you and if you are craving an amazing treat struggle through it. Or, find someone you secretly hate and ask them to make it for you.
