I wasn’t joking when I said I have been living in variations of this outfit. Last week I paired the gray version of this dress with my favorite vest, today I’ve got it with a cardigan. Also, how do you make the word “cardigan” not sound like a 45 year old teacher? Anyway, apparently I’m not too adventurous with my wardrobe these days but I don’t even mind because I feel so fall appropriate in this one.
Also- let me just state the obvious by telling you sometimes “feeling fall” in Florida is really flipping hard okay?! I don’t know that I’ll ever be okay with the fact that wearing flip-flops and shorts is still normal all the way through Christmas. (Like had to put my hair up halfway through this shoot-hot) My northern heart just can’t accept that. However, my two favorite ways to bring fall into my wardrobe down here is dark lips and dresses.
I’ve chatted far too much about my love for a good dark lip. Or have I? Because I don’t think I’d ever get sick of recommending my favorite vampy colors. You can make just about any look more fall by adding a dark lip. Seriously, just try it. The easiest way to transition your wardrobe to the season.
My second tip is to base all of your outfits around a dress. Okay, maybe not ALL of them but most of them. I bought this dress in FOUR colors. Yup, that’s right. FOUR. And you might be thinking “oh a dress, that’s for spring” Nope, you’re wrong. By layering a sweater or scarf with these babies they’re automatically my number one fall essential. Plus they’re so dang comfortable so there’s that.
Plus- I thought since I've been non stop talking about this dress I'd let you know that Old Navy is doing 40% off and free 2 day shipping until tonight (10/19)!! So do yourself a favor and go place an order, you won't regret it!
If you live in a place where it’s perma-summer how do you trick yourself into feeling like it's fall?! And if you live where it’s cold right now …eff you. JKJK I’m just so jealous!!
