Ok so, Halloween is like...tomorrow, and you have yet to carve a pumpkin! There's no time! You're still working on a costume, candy hasn't been purchased and trick-or-treaters are practically knocking on your door! Who has time to sit and carve a dang pumpkin?!

No worries! We've got some easy-peasy pumpkin decorating ideas that take less than 20 minutes. Here are three stress-free ways to spice up your pumpkin (possibly while you're drinking a pumpkin spice latte? Just a suggestion).

1. Wrap a giant bow around it!

It's easy to forget how a simple yet classy black bow can take your pumpkin from 0 to 100 real quick. And yes, I did find the ugliest pumpkin in the patch to take home with me. It's called "character" people, get with it.

2. OMG spray paint!

Literally so easy and so many options with some good spray paint! I opted for a nice bronze/copper in keeping with the orange pumpkin theme. I like to wrap the pumpkin stems with masking tape because I think it looks better without paint. But you might like it with...totally up to you.

Another AWESOME trick: spray small bursts of paint close to your pumpkin to get a "drip" look. Spooky right?!

3. OMGOMG glitter!

You guys...when in doubt, throw some glitter on it. We all know you have glitter somewhere in your house, put in on your pump! So fancy ya'll.

Just look how cute they all look together! Having some decorated and some "naked" pumpkins look great too! Pumpkin carving is so old school, it's time to get a little creative this Halloween! Have fun!

October Faves!

I really feel like October just started so writing this favorites post is a bit off. Don’t get me wrong I’ve definitely seen my fair share of PSL and pumpkin picking instas so I know fall officially happened. October was great and November should be even better! (We’ve got something super exciting coming to WDA soon!!) Anyway, let's get into my favorite things from October!

Beauty

It’s no surprise that I love my Lorac palettes. I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve got both pro palettes and so happy I managed to get my hands on the first mega pro palette that came out around last Christmas. This month they released the mega pro 2 and I couldn’t pass it up. These shadows are so beautiful, easy to work with, and such a good formula. Do I think you need all four? Probably not. Do I think I need all four? Yes absolutely.

I’ve had my eye on Nightmoth for sometime now and knew after talking about my favorite fall lipsticks it was time to add it to my collection. Don’t get me wrong, MAC lipliners are so expensive and I think you can find some great dupes at the drugstore but dark purples are my THANG so I didn’t mind investing. It’s the perfect base for any vampy shade, it adds a little depth and dimension. Lately I’ve been deepening the outer corners of my lips and creating a subtle ombre, I’m into it.

I have to be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of Too Faced Better Than Sex when I first purchased it. The formula is a little more wet than I typically like my mascaras. I set it aside and used some other favorites but recently rediscovered it when I was cleaning out my collection. I decided to give it a try and I LOVE it. It’s the perfect consistency now. It adds lots of volume and some length to my lashes. I don’t know that I’ll repurchase just because I have some drugstore ones that I enjoy but I really loved it this month.

This month I've added a completely new product (and technique) to my beauty routine. I've never really attempted contouring aka I am always running late and have little time to experiment in the mornings. I finally had a chance to play around with contouring and I'm digging it. I use NYX Taupe for it, even though it's considered a blush. It's the perfect shade for my skin tone, not too ashy but not too dark. Definitely recommend giving it a shot, shoutout to youtube tutorials to help me out!

Hand in hand with contouring is highlighting. I've loved Mary-Lou manizer for some time now but paired with taupe, I'm in love. It gives the perfect glow to any look. Since I have oily skin, I'm surprised how much I love this product. Highlighting can be tricky when I do everything to make my skin look as matte as possible. I focus it just on the high points of my cheekbones and really love the look it gives!

Fashion

I mean … you’ve seen me in swing dresses here and here so did you think they weren’t going to make my favorites for the month? I feel like every time I get dressed, I reach for one. And I can totally get away with it too because I have so many colors and you can accessorize them a million different ways. I don’t see these babies going anywhere.

Last month I talked about my taupe Steve Madden booties and guess what? I found them in black! I was at DSW returning something but if you know anything about me you know seldom leave places empty handed so I decided to browse around. I am so happy to add these to my closet. They’re super comfortable and go with literally everything. I just need to find them in a cognac color and I’ll be set!

I’ve had these bracelets for a few months now but I’ve been stacking them a ton this month. They’re just an easy layering piece that again, match with absolutely everything. I’ve been really into mixing stripes and leopard lately #adventurous. Sometimes I break them up, sometimes I wear them together. I keep these in my purse because they’re the perfect last minute addition to any outfit!

Media

The queen is back. ADELE, I have missed you. Pretty sure the entire world is in love with Hello and I am no exception. Safe to say I’ve listened to this song close to a million times already. It’s definitely going to be on repeat until 25 comes out in late November. If you haven’t heard it yet please please please go watch the video. Plus her makeup in it is serious praise hands emoji.

It’s October and although I’m not a huge PSL girl, I did watch Hocus Pocus every night for a week straight. Beetlejuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Adams Family, Sleepy Hollow, and Halloweentown have also been on my TV a little too much this month but I don’t even mind.

I still don’t know how I really feel about this season of AHS. I think I’m into it but not too sure. I’ll give it a couple more episodes before I decide either way. Also, I’ve got to admit even though I told you I wasn’t a fan of Coven; I miiiiiight have watched it this month. Still not in love with it and definitely doesn't beat the first two seasons but after giving it a second chance, I don’t think it’s quite as bad as I thought. Plus when I’m rocking my black dress, new booties and a deep lip I feel like Madison Montgomery. On Wednesdays we wear black.

I feel like these last few weeks of October have been absolutely insane. Work has picked up, schedules have been jammed and any extra time I've stumbled upon has been used to catch up on sleep. Am I the only one, or is fall absolutely crazy? (As I'm writing this I just found waffle batter on my arm...it's 8pm. #help.)

Aside from catching up on sleep, during a moment of free time I did manage to sneak in quick trip to TJMaxx where I picked up my new favorite bag and this perfect poncho by Madison 88! Oh and I bought a hat because trying new things is good right?

I've always been hesitant to invest in a poncho because well, it's hot in Florida! But this one was an exception! It is super affordable and definitely a piece that can be worn with many outfits.

It comes in black and navy as well but I stuck with the grey because I felt like it would be a softer neutral to layer with. I also fell in love with the details! There's a brown suede trim which mixes the textures and the toggles are a beautiful tortoise shell brown.

I've never had a poncho before and I can say I am 100% on board! It's an interesting piece to have in your wardrobe and you basically get to wear a blanket outside. Come on...what's not to love?!

Bargain Bag Bliss

So a couple months ago my car was broken into and my purse was stolen. Yeah, yeah so sad poor me. Whatever it's done the main thing that turned out to be awful was spending the entire next day at the DMV getting a new license. Side note: pretty sure the DMV and Purgatory are basically the same thing. Anyway, I've been using an old purse for a while and truthfully had no desire to invest in a new one because well, after having your car broken into it just seemed a little too risky.

After dealing with my personal issues, I really just started hating my back-up bag. Every time I looked at it I thought, "I'm only using you because someone broke into my car and violated my personal space." Bleh! That was NOT something I wanted to keep thinking about and I really needed to move past.

I decided the time had come to buy a new "redemption" bag. And since I was still a bit wary of spending tons of cash, I went into bargain-buyer mode.

I wanted to offer a few tips when picking out bargain bags because I've ended up pulling the trigger on some too soon and not ever using them.

First, do your research and know some good bargain brands/shops. A few of my faves are TJMaxx, Target and Francesca's. You can find some really quality purses if you know what you're looking for. I've been eyeing a specific type of bag from Kate Spade and Rebecca Minkoff but I just haven't saved enough money (or am emotional ready) to drop the big bucks. So having a style of bag in mind while bargain shopping really helped me find just what I was looking for.

I found this beaut from Steve Madden at TJMaxx. I was looking for a medium size, every-day bag, in black with a bit of added interest. This one IS PERFECT! It's just the right size, small enough to cart around every day but big enough to hold all the junk I insist on toting around. It's black and has some awesome tassels on the zipper for added fun!

My next piece of advice is to know your budget. Before I even walked into the store I knew I did not want to spend over $50. I looked at a few bags that were definite contenders but then looked at their price tag and immediately put them back. Major self discipline here.

Last, give it time. There are A LOT of great bargain bags out there. Don't buy the first one you see and then go somewhere else and see a better bag. Hashtag regret. For my lil Steve Madden here I actually saw it, didn't buy it, and since I was still thinking about it the next day, went back to buy it. And I am much more confident that I picked the right one because I truly couldn't live without it!

See, even some good thing came out of getting my car broken into. My new favorite bag and a blog post.

Light layers and dark lips

I wasn’t joking when I said I have been living in variations of this outfit. Last week I paired the gray version of this dress with my favorite vest, today I’ve got it with a cardigan. Also, how do you make the word “cardigan” not sound like a 45 year old teacher? Anyway, apparently I’m not too adventurous with my wardrobe these days but I don’t even mind because I feel so fall appropriate in this one.

Also- let me just state the obvious by telling you sometimes “feeling fall” in Florida is really flipping hard okay?! I don’t know that I’ll ever be okay with the fact that wearing flip-flops and shorts is still normal all the way through Christmas. (Like had to put my hair up halfway through this shoot-hot) My northern heart just can’t accept that. However, my two favorite ways to bring fall into my wardrobe down here is dark lips and dresses.

I’ve chatted far too much about my love for a good dark lip. Or have I? Because I don’t think I’d ever get sick of recommending my favorite vampy colors. You can make just about any look more fall by adding a dark lip. Seriously, just try it. The easiest way to transition your wardrobe to the season.

My second tip is to base all of your outfits around a dress. Okay, maybe not ALL of them but most of them. I bought this dress in FOUR colors. Yup, that’s right. FOUR. And you might be thinking “oh a dress, that’s for spring” Nope, you’re wrong. By layering a sweater or scarf with these babies they’re automatically my number one fall essential. Plus they’re so dang comfortable so there’s that.

dress | cardigan | sneakers | sunnies (similar) | lips
necklace | watch | bracelets | bag (similar)

Plus- I thought since I've been non stop talking about this dress I'd let you know that Old Navy is doing 40% off and free 2 day shipping until tonight (10/19)!! So do yourself a favor and go place an order, you won't regret it!

If you live in a place where it’s perma-summer how do you trick yourself into feeling like it's fall?! And if you live where it’s cold right now …eff you. JKJK I’m just so jealous!!
