It's easy enough to go buy an ice cream cone after dinner, but why not embrace your kitchen skills and get fancy with some popsicle molds?! These are a blast for parties and are SUPER easy to make! And if you're looking for some recipes check out Brit's post on 3 Easy Popsicle Recipes for Summer.

Birks are back people! This summer I am living in my Birkenstocks because 1) comfy AF and 2) my feet need to breathe!!! I highly recommend investing in a pair (I've had mine since 8th grade...for real though). But if you're not looking to spend too much there are a ton of places that have "imitation" Birks right now.

June Faves!!

Another month gone, another favorites post! Here are the things I was loving for June!

Half Baked-
I’m all about the gold hues during summer time. There’s something about a nice summer glow that is complimented perfectly with a little gold on the eyes. Plus, my green eyes LOVE a good gold shadow! I've talked about changing up your colors with the seasons, and this product is something I break out every summer! There’s a few good shades by Lorac that I love but Urban Decay’s Half Baked will always be my go-to.

Summer rolls around and I want little to no makeup on my face. Have you checked out my summer makeup tips and favorite products? I raved about this baby there! It Cosmetics CC+ is phenom. This is the first CC cream I’ve owned and I can’t imagine looking for anything else. I’m surprised by the coverage it gives while still feeling very light on my skin! I love that it lets my freckles peek through but still evens out my skin tone. There’s also an illumination formula, but this oily skin gal is sticking to the original!

I don’t think I ever thought that this would be in my favorites but I am LOVING this gingham trend. It’s no secret my blog crush is Jessica Sturdy from Bows & Sequins. That girl is always rocking gingham and up until now, I've admired it from afar. However, recently I found myself surrounded by it at work and gave it a shot. I decided on this dress and will probably be wearing it once a week! As much as it makes a statement on it’s own, it’s surprisingly easy to wear. Red lip, top knot and my gingham dress, YES PLEASE!

It’s summer and definitely sandal weather. Although, we live in Florida so it’s pretty much sandal weather year round. I am in love with this style! Like so in love I own four pairs, (two of the white because I know I am going to wear them out) I’ve seen them all over the blog world and you can find them in both higher end shops and places like Target. Mine are from LOFT and I highly recommend them, although I’ll warn you they were slightly uncomfortable the first couple wears, but now I can't get enough of them.

Young & Hungry -
I’m almost a little ashamed to admit to you how much I loved this show. It’s on ABC family and like … I’m 25 so there’s that. But it really is just a light hearted quick watch. I finished all of season one in one morning (it’s on Netflix and I think season 2 is on Hulu) Essentially, it’s about a fun food blogger (Emily Osment) who becomes a chef for a rich and (debatably) good looking entrepreneur. They have a one night stand in the first episode and it goes from there. Sometimes I’m surprised about the comments that they make, considering they’re SLIGHTLY raunchy and it’s still an ABC family show. Definitely worth checking out if you just need something that requires no thinking.

Jurassic World-
I don’t even really have words for how much I loved Jurassic World. I mean I dedicated a whole OOTD to my love for these movies. I definitely had high hopes considering I watch any and all of the Jurassic Park movies whenever they’re on AMC, which let’s be real is like once a week. So really Chris Pratt + dinosaurs was a no brainer. I was really impressed with the movie, I loved how they paid homage to the original while definitely keeping me on my toes. Also appearances from Jimmy Fallon & Jake Johnson made for a VERY happy Clance.

I’ve got a whole Austin recap coming up next week so stay tuned for that! Just know that Austin stole a huge part of my heart and it definitely hasn’t seen the end of me!

Those are just some of my favorite things from the past few weeks,
what have you been loving?

Who doesn't love a good Lush collab from your WDA gals?! (Porter here) I've been a fan of Lush products for some time so I don't know why it's taken me this long to write a post about it. I figured it would be super fun to get the gang together and collab on what our current fave Lush products are! So you get to hear from all three of us today! Woohoo!

Up first, Clancy's fave:

Asking me to choose a favorite Lush product is like asking me to choose a favorite child. …Except I don’t have kids, nor do I ever want them. But ANNNYWAY, point of this is that I love Lush. They have great bath bombs and bubble bars, I really love their tea tree water toner and their lip scrubs. However, I think my favorite products are their masks! I’m currently obsessing over their love lettuce one. It’s a pretty thick consistency and can definitely get a little messy but it’s so worth it! I love that since these masks must be kept in the refrigerator, they are nice and cold when applied, perfect for a summer day. When rinsing it off, it's a pretty good exfoliator too. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and a little bit brighter.  I feel like after I use it my skin is less oily, which is always a plus. The one downfall to Lush masks is the expiration date, so make sure to take note of it! (Sidenote; when you bring back 5 pots with the recycle logo on it you get a free mask)

Porter's Pick:

I'm with Clancy, I 100% adore the Tea Tree Water Toner. It's perfect right after you hop out of the shower to just mist on your face real quick. However, my current favorite is the Vanishing Cream Facial Moisturizer. My face is naturally oily so I'm always reluctant to use anything that's going to put more moisture on my face. So I've been on the hunt for something light that I can wear at night to help repair my skin but that can also be worn under my make up so my pores don't get clogged. You guys...this stuff is magic. I don't really think it's making my skin completely oil free but I can totally feel a difference! My skin doesn't feel like I immediately need to wash it at the end of the day. And my make up stays fresher longer too! And the smell is to die for! Lavender scents always relax me and it's nice to have a "non-perfume-y" smell all over my face. It's a tad on the expensive side, but you absolutely get your money's worth. You only need a tiny amount on your face so you're not going to run out of this stuff for a while. Highly recommend.

Brit's Choice:

My favorite is definitely the BIG Sea Salt Shampoo.  I have literally the most flat and finest hair in the world and living in Florida amongst some serious humidity brings out the worst in hair, making flat hair flatter and frizzy hair frizzier!  So I am constantly on a mission to find shampoo to give my hair a little life and I LOVE Lush's product!  Don't get me wrong my hair didn't all of the sudden turn into a voluptuous hair care model's mane, but it feels great.  It feels healthier and lighter and not like it is bogged down with tons and tons of product.  Disclosure: There is sea salt in the shampoo and I'm not going to lie, it feels super weird rubbing sea salt in to your scalp but its totally worth it!

What are your top Lush picks?! Make sure to comment and share with us!

Summer 2015: All About the Snacks

Happy Fri-YAY everybody! End of the week, now it's time to lay out by the pool and enjoy the summer heat.

Today I'm bringing you some of my favorite summer snacks. They're easy to throw together so you don't miss out on any summer fun and SO delicious you'll be snackin' all summer long! Enjoy!!!

Since everyone's obsessed with avocados these days I thought I'd whip up a little something to celebrate the oh-so-amazing avocado. Only four ingredients and minimal prep time.

2 slices of toast (a more hearty bread tastes wonderful with this snack!)
1 small avocado
1/2 small tomato
Parmesan cheese

Simply spread the avocado on your toast and top with diced tomatoes and grated Parmesan cheese! It is sooooooo good! And truth be told this is my current favorite breakfast, weird? It's yummy and keeps me full for a pretty long time.

I feel like cucumbers are a really underrated vegetable. There's actually so much you can make with them! And for summer they are perfect because they'll help cool you down.

1/2 (or whole) cucumber
Olive oil
Red wine (or Balsamic) vinegar
Garlic powder

Chop up your cucumber into cubes, drizzle on the oil and vinegar, sprinkle with the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Pop these in the fridge for 30 min and enjoy a cool and refreshing snack! These are a great replacement for when you're craving chips. They satisfy that crunch and salty craving.

It's summer...berries are a must! I love adding things to my berries to make them a little more exciting. As you can see by my almost empty bag, my current fave addition is granola.

5-8 Strawberries
1/4 cup granola

Chop up your strawberries, add your granola and toss with honey. Amazing for a light breakfast or an afternoon snack and a great substitute for dessert!

Hope this post inspired you to get creative with your snacking! What are some of your current favorite summer snacks??

...class of '97, wear sunscreen: summer makeup

Well it's officially summer! Cue the Florida humidity and the days of throwing my hair up in a top knot. Just like you switch out your clothes during the change of seasons, you should be changing your makeup routine as well! Here are some things I do during the summer months to keep my skin looking fab.

Change up your foundation

Whether you need to change the shade of your foundation or the formula of it, summer is definitely a time to switch things up. During the “cooler” months in Florida, I wear a more full coverage foundation, I don’t mind having something a little heavier on my skin. However, during the summer I want as little on my face as possible. Between the heat and the humidity, there is no way I want something full coverage on. I recently picked up the it cosmetics your skin but better CC+ and I am in love. I enjoy that it’s a lighter consistency but you can still definitely build it up if you need to. Even if you’re not switching foundations all together, take a look at the color you’re using since you’re probably going to get a little sun!

It’s obviously important to take care of your skin year round however, I’ve found that mine needs a little extra love during the summer. Make sure you’re using a good moisturizer, the sun tends to dry your skin out. I have always been drawn to moisturizers that are a gel consistency, I think they work a little better for oily skin. It’s also a plus in the summer because they have a cooling sensation when you apply them. It’s also a good time to invest in an exfoliator. If you’re skin is getting dry because of your time outside, exfoliating is a great option. It will buff away all of the dry and dead skin. GROSS. Both my moisturizer and exfoliator are from Clean and Clear and I really love them.

The world is not joking when they tell you how important SPF is. I know we all want a nice tan and a little bit of color, but that doesn’t mean you can skip out on your SPF. I’m not saying you need to lather sunscreen on your face every day (although it might not hurt to use one specifically made for your face if you’re prone to burning) but take a look at your moisturizer and foundation. You can find several that already have SPF in them! The CC+ I’ve been using has SPF 50, so I’m protecting my skin without even having to use another product. They also make lip products that contain SPF because let’s be real nothing is worse than sunburnt lips!

Evaluate your colors

Many gals I know use the same eye shadow colors and lip colors all the time. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that and I’m definitely guilty of reaching for the same products over and over again. However, when your skin is getting a little darker, it’s good to just evaluate the color choices your using. Maybe it’s time to invest in a brighter lip color or eyeliner shade. It’s kind of a similar concept that the same red lipstick doesn’t always work for both fair and darker skin. I tend to use more gold shades on my eyes during the warmer months when my skin has a little color! Play around with the shades you’re using!

Go natural

Nobody said you have to wear makeup every day! Once the summer hits, I take full advantage of my freckles coming out and the natural glow the sun gives my skin! It’s the best time to let your best features shine. Since I’m not crazy about going out without ANY makeup, I’ll tend to just fill in my eyebrows and pop a little mascara on and I’m good to go! (Waterproof mascara is my summer staple!)

Clever Girl: OOTD

Honestly, I've been waiting for this day for what feels like forever.
Dinosaurs + Chris Pratt = what more could a girl want in life?

In honor of this fabulous day, my OOTD involves my current favorite tee! Styling a tee can some times be a little difficult. Sure you can pair it with some denim shorts and make it super causal and call it a day. But, I also love to wear my tees over a dress or with a skirt. This gives them a completely different feel! Today I'm wearing mine over a plain LBD with a cute little side tie.

Hope you enjoyed today's spin on a simple tee, but more importantly I hope you're enjoying Jurassic World even more!

But First...Coffee: Favorite Orlando Coffee Shops

It's true. I'm a sucker for a coffee shop. The drinks. The atmosphere. The stories. I love it! It's funny because as I think about it some of my fondest memories begin with a coffee shop. Whether it was a deep conversation with an old (or new) friend, blog planning (holla!) or discussing life-changing careers moves, you don't realize how pivotal a place can be. So shout out to all the coffee shops out there, keep on cultivating connections! And if you're looking for a good spot in the Orlando/Winter Park area, here are my current 5 favorite coffee shops around town:

LOCATION: 118 S Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789

 Perfect outside seating.

Acai bowl...hello?!!!!

If you follow @wedressalright on Instagram, you know your WDA girls frequent Barnie's prettyyy often. #noshame. Lattes are on point here! My new summer go-to drink is definitely the vanilla iced latte. And the food...omg. So good! Grilled Cheese with cheddar AND swiss. YAS. One of my favorite things about Barnie's is sitting outside and people watching. Just casually sipping while watching people shop on the Ave. Not to mention the tables satisfy my current obsession with marble.

LOCATION: 1221 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803 (Check their Instagram for hours)

propagation coffee
My new FAVEEEEE! I went in a few weeks ago for the first time and asked the barista to make me the most popular which happened to be the cappucino. Listen, I'm not a capuccino drinker but I was like, hey, you're the professional. HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It was one of (if not the) best straight coffee drink I've ever had. And if you want latte art...Propagation is your place. And if the quality of the beverages wasn't enough, the space is absolutely breathtaking. Open, perfect lighting, minimalist. Oh, and did I mention they have furniture you can purchase as well. Oh much more than your average coffee shop. Check out their Instagram too it's a beaut.

Palmano's Trattoria & Wine Bar
LOCATION: 333 S Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789

Local fave. Drinks from espresso to latte to cafe au lait (my pick) and delicious Italian foods. The fruit wrap with fresh fruits and peanut butter is fantastic. I definitely recommended grabbing a spot on the patio behind the cafe, it's a bit secluded and perfect for quietly enjoying your latte.

Segafredo Espresso

LOCATION: 1618 N Mills Ave Orlando, FL 32803

I stopped by Segafredo a few days ago to meet up with my bestie before she left town (wahhh!) and didn't really know what I was getting into. Usually I do a little “recon” before going to a new coffee shop but this was a last minute spontaneous outing. And may I say, being spontaneous paid off! Their menu was really impressive! Segafredo is more of a full on restaurant rather than just a coffee shop. But their coffee selection was awesome! It was hot as crud outside and I needed a cool beverage stat so I ordered the Tiramisu Frappe. O. M. G. It was glorious. It had a cookie on top, that's pretty much all I need to say right? Yep.

LOCATION: 706 W Smith St, Orlando, FL 32804

Oh, Credo how I love thee. If you're looking for a relaxing environment with a down to earth atmosphere that also gives back, Credo is your spot. Not only does Credo provide ah-mazing coffee (try that cafe con leche for real) they're also a non-profit! They're doing really impactful things that goes beyond a solid cup of joe. Check out their website here for more info!

5 tips for your travels!

Traveling to a new place is always exciting …but can also be super overwhelming. In general, travel always stresses me out. Considering I fly to NJ a few times a year, you’d think I’d be a pro by now but nope, …not me.

Today, I wanted to share five travel tips for any upcoming trips you might have!

1. Make a list

I feel like everyone always says this about traveling. It’s always the number one tip on traveling but how many people actually do it? I know it helps me a ton when I’m getting ready for a trip. I am a huge over-packer. I always think I need way more than I actually do and end up packing an unnecessary amount. By making a list you are limiting yourself to only what you need. It also helps to make sure you don’t forget anything. I usually start this about a week in advance and write my every day essentials on it as I’m using things so I make sure to not overlook anything.

2. Pack Smart
This goes along with me overpacking. If there is room in my suitcase, I will fill it with unnecessary things, trust me on that one. I like to plan my outfits out completely and lay them all out so I’m not throwing things in last minute. If you know what you’re packing for it makes it easier as well. Check the weather for where you’re going and plan accordingly! When I’m physically packing I separate all of my things into different compartments and pack them together. Try using a travel bag for all of your bath products, one for all of your jewelry, one for makeup and skincare, another for all of your chargers. This makes it easy when you get to your destination to find what you are looking for without having to tear your whole suitcase apart.

3. Clean before you leave
If my mom is reading this right now, she’s probably rolling her eyes since I always make fun of her for this one but it really does make all the difference. I am famous for doing my laundry the night before a trip and being stressed because all the clothes I want to take are dirty. Make sure all of that is done in advance so you’re not running around like a crazy person last minute! Also, take the time to make your bed, clean up any odds and ends around the house before you leave. By doing this, you are leaving yourself a clean space to come home to! Nobody likes coming home from a nice relaxing vacation to a bunch of chores.

4. Research
If you’re traveling somewhere new, make sure to do your research! Some people are super adventurous and can travel the world with no set agenda! To you people, I say “ARE YOU CRAZY?!” I’m not one to plan things to an extreme, however I like to know what I’m getting myself in to. I just want to make sure I’m not missing any must see things in a new place, who knows when I might be there again!? If you’re into something specific like hiking or cute little coffee shops, look into the best in the area. I’ve been googling the shit out of Austin lately to make sure I have some ideas of things I want to see when I’m there. I also find myself browsing the #austintx hashtag on Instagram when I’m bored.

5. Bring things for the plane
If you’re not into reading … why are you packing a book? Don’t worry about what “normal” plane things are bring what YOU are going to do! If you plan on watching a movie or listening to music, don’t forget your headphones! If you have to catch up on some work or blogging, bring your computer and get some done. However, if you do enjoy reading check out this month’s #weREADalright book, I know I’ll be reading it on my ride!

These are just some things I like to make sure I’m doing before a trip, it makes the traveling part less stressful and allows me to be more excited about the trip itself. The most important thing about traveling is having fun, enjoying your time and making memories!

Safe travels babes!
