Styling a Graphic Tee

I'm a die hard jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. And whenever I can get away with wearing my comfiest know it's gonna happen. But sometimes your favorite t-shirt needs a little "fancy-ing" up. It may sound daunting but you'll be surprised at how easy styling a graphic t-shirt really is.

My rule of thumb? Add some layers! Although whatever graphic is on your tee may be interesting the fit of a t-shirt is pretty much the same across the board.

Poncho: Forever 21 (also love this one) Pants: Lou and Grey Flats: Lands End

Here I've added a cozy poncho to stay all warm and snuggly. I've also paired my tee with these earthy camo green Lou and Grey  pants. You now have some different textures to play off each other and make your outfit a bit more interesting.

Another way to add some interest is layer with a more structured piece. A simple black blazer works wonders!

 Blazer: H&M Denim: Old Navy

Pulling in a professional feel to a tee is always fun to do. Throw on your favorite boyfriend jeans and some sassy leopard flats and you're good to go!

And don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone a little. Wearing a top you know you'll be comfortable in allows you to play around with pieces you wouldn't normally try.

Leggings: Guess Cardigan: LOFT similar Booties: Target similar

These leather leggings and KILLER booties are definitely out of my every day comfort zone. But I was confident enough to do it because I had on my cozy tee! And my girl Marilyn definitely makes me feel oh so sassy.

Remember: you are the master of the shirt. It doesn't have to stay like you found it just hanging there. Tie it! Tuck it! Maybe even cut it! It's totally up to you!

Dress: H&M Vest: American Eagle Boots: Sophie and Trey

Here I have it layered and tied over a simple black tank dress. And black booties again of course!

See! There are SO many ways to style a graphic tee! Have some fun with it and don't be afraid to try out some new styles on an old favorite.
